Event Summary

20 December 2013, at its 68th session, the United Nations General Assembly
(UNGA) decided to proclaim March 3, the day of the adoption of the Convention
on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES),
as World Wildlife Day, to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild
fauna and flora.
its resolution, the General Assembly reaffirmed the intrinsic value of wildlife
and its various contributions, including ecological, genetic, social, economic,
scientific, educational, cultural, recreational and aesthetic, to sustainable
development and human well-being.
General Assembly took note of the outcome of the 16th meeting of the Conference
of the Parties to CITES, held in Bangkok from 3 to 14 March 2013, in particular
Resolution Conf. 16.1 designating 3 March as World Wildlife Day, in order to
celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild fauna and flora, and
recognized the important role of CITES in ensuring that international trade
does not threaten the survival of species.
Pakistan, Agri. Education Pakistan was one of the few organizers of this day. On
3 March, an awareness session was organized under the Agri. Education Lecture Series
A Project of Agri. Education Pakistan). Mr. Waseem Ahmed Kashif a young
wildlife enthusiast invited the team AEP to organize an awareness session
regarding wildlife conservation and its importance. Team AEP was hosted by the
Mr. Waseem Ahmed Kashif and Mr. Asif Sultan. For organizing the event at its
best and to make it fruitful, an advisory committee was made by AEP, consisting

make the event a fun for the youngsters, while the Mr. Siddique joined, as a
media adviser and consultant.
the 3 March, AEP team was at the venue. Lecture was started at sharp 12:00 p.m
by Mr. Muhammad Safeer Abbas Jafrey. The lecture was a fun stuff for the
students of all grades and they enjoyed it. Mr. Jafrey told the students that,
how much the wildlife is important and the wildlife conservation is a religious
obligation. On this occasion, KFC Student Discount Cards distributed among the
students as a gift from KFC, SGD. Interesting and captivating flex signs
regarding importance of wildlife conservation were displayed both at Al-Mustafa
Education Complex and KFC, SGD.

school administration and Govt. Wildlife Department’s delegates appreciate the
policies and agenda of AEP. We cordially thankful to KFC, SGD, Government District
Wildlife Department, Media Mind and Al-Mustafa Education Complex for their
contribution, support and encouragement. With the blessings of ALLAH Almighty,
this event was just another successful event in the good book of Agri.
